Selena Gomez gears up for a new film role by cutting her brunette locks into an edgier hairstyle!

She has been sporting straight long brunette locks for some time now.

But Selena Gomez has now switched up her style and cut herself a new fringe.

The 20-year-old debuted her new locks on her Facebook account today.

 

The Spring Breakers star revealed that the style was for a new movie role and she had changed her looks to fit the character of the film. 

'New hair for a new movie :) I love changing my hair!' she wrote on her Facebook wall.

Her altered appearance is most likely for her role in the 2013 film, The Getaway.  

The teenager will be playing the character of the 'Kid' opposite Ethan Hawke, Jon Voight and Bruce Payne.

The film started shooting in May 2012 in Sofia, Bulgaria and has now continued shooting in the United States.

It's been a busy couple of weeks for the singer and actress. 

The most significant event was her jump out of teenagehood after she celebrated her 20th birthday with a win at the Teen Choice Awards earlier this month 

'Beyond blessed, so much love. Thank you for the most incredible birthday yet! I'm truly, truly grateful. I love my family, friends and all of you,' she posted on her Facebook page.

It was a double celebration for Selena as she managed to scoop the award for Choice Music Group with her band Selena Gomez and the Scene at the ceremony.

The delighted star was presented with birthday cupcakes as she received her award from actors Kevin Hart and Nina Dobrev onstage at the event.

Looking stunning in the cerise Dsquared2 dress and sky-high Herve Leger heels, the star was then serenaded by the audience who sang Happy Birthday to her.

Selena's boyfriend Justin Bieber was also one of the stars of the show, also winning awards for Summer Male Music Star, Male Artist and Fashion Icon.

The 18-year-old singer performed a medley of his hits Boyfriend and As Long as You Love Me before accepting his prizes.

'This album has meant the world to me,' Justin told his delighted fans.

'This is just a reminder to everybody in here: Believe. Thank you.

Demi Lovato hangs out with a leopard!

Demi Lovato’s latest co-star is wild. 19-year-old Demi spent her weekendshooting a new PSA for Voto Latino. Along with other actors who also appear in the PSA, like Wilmer Valderrama, the video also stars a leopard. The singer and actress seemed very comfortable with the animal in the photo she shared.

“Just working with a leopard on set yesterday... No big deal... #votolatino” she tweeted on Sunday.

The PSA was shot in support of Voto Latino. The organization’s mission is to encourage more young Latinos to vote by “engaging youth, media, technology and celebrities to promote positive change.”

The organization was co-founded by actress Rosario Dawson in 2004.

Demi Lovato has worked with the Voto Latino organization for a few years. The “Give Your Heart a Break” singer has been having a very busy summer touring and judging on The X Factor. Her involvement in the new 2012 election PSA was much appreciated.

The organization tweeted: “A big hug and special thank you to Miss #DemiLovato aka @ddlovato for returning for the second time to work on our PSA. #VotoLatino.”

Demi Lovato attempts to wrestle the spotlight from fellow X Factor judge Britney Spears in a bra and open shirt!

Her fellow judge Britney Spears went without a bra when she slipped into a low-cut cream blazer earlier this week.

And Demi Lovato proved that she can do racy too as she attended the final day of X Factor USA bootcamp today in Miami.

The 19-year-old displayed her black lacy bralette underneath a sheer unbuttoned white shirt as she made her way to filming. 

 

The overall effect saw the star expose plenty of decolletage and her tummy area.

She paired the daring look with a cream blazer and tight wet look leggings.

Heading to the hotel where bootcamp is taking place, the singer and actress needed a hand as she tried to maneuver herself up a grassy hill in sky-high Christian Louboutin stilettos.

The star also wore her blonde hair with blue/green dipped ends out in a voluminous wave.

Her brightly-hued hair coincidentally matched Britney's attire today.

The 30-year-old pop star stepped out in a clinging bright turquoise lacy mini dress.

The Toxic singer's off-the-shoulder number showed off her legs to maximum effect.

Matching platform heels and a dainty necklace completed the look as she arrived for the last day of bootcamp.

  

Britney followed her fiancé Jason Trawick out of their hotel as they made their way to film alongside fellow judges Simon Cowell and L.A. Reid.

Her boyfriend looked decidedly more casual in a red polo shirt, dark jeans and sunglasses.

The star earlier seemed to be looking forward to the day ahead, tweeting to her 18 million followers: 'Final day of boot camp for @TheXFactorUSA... gotta make some tough decisions today. Wish me luck!'

The premiere of the second season of The X Factor USA is just weeks away and the new crop of judges seem to be feeling increasingly settled into their roles.

Earlier this week the quartet took part in a press conference via a videolink where Simon Cowell hinted at what viewers can expect from the new additions to the panel.

'Demi is a brat,' he told reporters. 'But there's something likeable about her. Britney's quite mean, as you'll discover.'

'I was fascinated with her as a person, as a pop star, and there's something intriguing about her,' added Simon about Britney.  'And she's a really good judge.'

According to Britney, being a reality-show judge 'made sense' for her career.

'I adore Simon and it was something I really wanted to do,' she said.

Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber took a group of family and friends out to lunch at Sushi Dan’s in Studio City Friday. The two singers both wore jeans, of course, though the kids were in shorts. Summer casual, California style. Selena chose bleached and ripped jeans with a short, lacy green top and her signature shades plus huge hoop earrings. Her boots were brown leather knee-highs.

Justin’s vee-necked tee, in white, is becoming a favorite, but this one was different from his recent usual, because the neckline was loose and frayed. He kept to his favorite gold chain, black jeans and big black sneakers.

They cozied up with Justin’s half sister and brother, Jazmyn and Jaxon Bieber. Taking kids out to lunch is always something of an organized chaos, and this seems to be the case for Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber, as for any family group. Pics show people milling everywhere, but the other adults were not named. Nor did the tab report whether they favored tuna over California roll.

Celebs do not live in a vacuum, and no one can ignore the summer Olympics, opening in London.

Now that the Teen Choice Awards has ended for this year, hosting hopefuls are tossing their hats in as potential host, including Frankie Grande. Ariana Grande‘s older brother Frankie has expressed his interest in joining in the likes of hosting the show for 2013. I will say that he would help make the show fun, but I think they like to stick with celebrity hosts for the most part. As some of the comments from his video have hinted, he should have his own show. Then from there I can see him hosting the award’s show because he would be officially famous in his own right. So I do hope that he can make that happen and host it, or he could always be a co-host alongside maybe his sister? That could be another way to work around it and allow him to show off his shining personality that seems to be not noticed enough by a long shot. Maybe we can get some network to pay attention to him via this video and his social media request.

In an interview with Canada’s New Music Live, will.i.am talked all about how he shared a plane ride with Justin after the Teen Choice Awards. “He taps me on the shoulder…’Yo, I want to show you this song I produced and wrote. I’m really excited about it because it’s one of the first songs I produced by myself.’”

Will says they crouched down in the aisle of the plane and listened to the song together on Justin’s laptop. “The song was dope. He was like, ‘Yeah, I wrote it for Selena. It’s great.’ And it was really awesome. It was, like, really, really dope.”

Pop princesses Demi Lovato and Selena Gomez both walked the pink carpet at the Teen Choice Awards this week, but which starlet looked hotter?

Selena must have turned a lot of heads when she posed up for the cameras in this hot pink number. If this dress had been on anyone else it would have looked cheap, but Selena and her enviable long hair and slim legs carried it off perfectly. 

The fact the dress was strappy gave the overall look a summery feel, and the pleated skirt added a touch of glamorous girly fun. 

The sophisticated addition of high heels stopped Ms Gomez's outfit from looking childish, and keeping her make up minimal and choosing to step out without accessories was a good way to make sure all eyes were on the dress. Top marks, Selena!

Perhaps Demi was trying to emulate Lady Gaga when she decided to wear this fussy dress, but unfortunately her efforts fell a bit flat. 

The colour scheme clashed and the pattern was confusing, while the feathers along the skirt made poor Demi look like an ornate lampshade. 

The dramatic high ponytail knocked years off the X Factor US judge, while the black heels were clunky and inappropriate for what was meant to be a family friendly awards show. But if the odd shoulder pads weren’t there, this dress might have passed for alright. Go home and try again, Demi!

According to insiders, the superstar singer/actress is set to get an extra special birthday present from boyfriend Justin Bieber — a key to his mansion.

Demi Lovato dazzled with her show-stopping ensembles at Sunday night's Teen Choice Awards.

The singer-and-actress hosted the14th annual event in Los Angeles - and in true Hollywood style changed her outfits multiple times throughout the night. Demi's wardrobe choices were so impressive her co-host Glee star Kevin McHale had to stop the show mid-way to give her recognition for her sexy style.

"I just want to point out how hot Demi looks," McHale said midway through the show. "Can we give it up for that?"

One of Demi's looks was a fashion-forward futuristic number. The star made sure all eyes were on her from the start as she worked the thigh-skimming dress on the event's pink carpet. Demi teamed the canary and silver beaded frock with a head-turning beauty look.

The stunning star pulled her long hair back into a high ponytail, and looked flawless with heavily kohled eyes and sultry nude lips.

Other stars who impressed with their style choices included Selena Gomez who wore a bright Dsquared2 dress paired with Herve Leger heels.

Glee star Lea Michele dazzled in an Atelier Versace dress. The shimmering creation showed off the star's perfect pins, and the brunette beauty made sure her beauty look was equally as dazzling.

Put on a happy face! Selena Gomez dons a cheery t-shirt as she visits a children's hospital in New Zealand with Justin Bieber!

Selena Gomez made an inspired fashion choice today as she donned a yellow smiley face t-shirt for a visit to a children's hospital.

Accompanying pop sensation boyfriend Justin Bieber, the Disney star was all smiles as the couple continued their tour of the Antipodes with a visit to Starship Hospital in Auckland during a promotional visit to New Zealand.

The 19-year-old managed to mix style with a sense of fun as she teamed the light-hearted top with a trendy studded denim shirt and skinny black jeans.

Canadian phenomenon Justin sported a white t-shirt under a sleeveless plaid shirt and waved to fans as the pair left the building.

Bieber has been an advocate for the Starship Foundation, calling on his fans to donate money in the launch of his Believe Charity Drive since November of last year.

The couple visited the sick children in advance of the teen's surprise show on Auckland's waterfront later this afternoon.

  

Bieber's New Zealand schedule has been kept under wraps, but he is expected to bungy jump rom the Auckland Harbour Bridge again -  as he did on his last visit in 2010  - followed by a showcase for around 200 fans on Auckland's waterfront.

The location and time of the concert are being kept top secret to avoid a mob of fans showing up. 

Even those with tickets will not officially know where the concert is until later today.

Fans eagerly awaited his arrival from Australia at the Auckland airport last night but were disappointed when he avoided the main terminal.

Hopeful Beliebers also waited outside the Langham hotel this morning, the same place One Direction stayed in April, to catch a glimpse of the heartthrob.

The last time the teenage superstar was in New Zealand, a hysterical group of girls shoved his mother out of the way and stole his baseball cap causing speculation as to why he is reticent to appear.

Bieber is in New Zealand promoting his latest album, Believe, until Friday.

Demi Lovato Gives Up Cell Phone

Demi Lovato has given up her cell phone as part of her healthy new lifestyle.

The singer-turned-TV talent show judge has battled numerous personal problems over the last few years and checked into rehab in 2010 to address issues including bipolar disorder, self-harming and an eating disorder.

She tells America's Self magazine, "I make time for myself and meditate. I've spent the past two years getting over an eating disorder and issues like self-harming and bipolar disorder. I have to work on this stuff every day. I'm reminded of that whenever I eat or feel down... "I haven't used my cell (phone) in three months! Subconsciously, it was a crutch.Lovato has since landed a new job as a judge on America's The X Factor and embraced a healthy new lifestyle regime, which includes meditation and giving up her cell phone.

When a room gets quiet, what do you do? Grab your phone! Now I can sit and have conversations with people". Lovato goes on to reveal she turned to self-harming to deal with crippling bouts of anxiety, explaining, "There were times I felt so anxious, almost like I was crawling out of my skin - that if I didn't do something physical to match the way I felt inside, I would explode.

I cut myself to take my mind off that.

I just didn't care what happened.

I had no fear".

Selena Gomez Chats About Hotel Transylvania

We may have to wait until next year to see Selena Gomez star in a live action film, but this fall she hasHotel Transylvania to promote and she is taking it seriously. She recently attended an event held for the big movie and she had a small interview talking about the Adam Sandler movie. She talks about her sassy character, Mavis – who happens to fall for a human. This is much to her father’s chagrin, so you can expect drama and monster goodness to follow. The movie will open this September 28.


I am happy that Selena Gomez is taking this role so seriously, even if it isn’t much of one. It is like a great ode for what she used to do for Disney! I hope she is looking forward to next year’s media blitz for Spring Breakers. It sounds like it will be a hit if they play their cards right. People are curious to see Selena playing a not so nice role! But lets get back to topic here, I am excited to see this movie. I personally think anything with Adam is great and to know that she is in it, it only will make it that much better than they were originally.

Demi Lovato: ‘Selena Gomez and I aren’t as close as we used to be

Demi Lovato credits her friends with helping her stay on the right track. The 19-year-old, who is open about her personal struggles, told Self Magazine she has surrounded herself with people who have a positive influence on her.

“I surround myself with people who make positive decisions and who have more interests than wanting to go to clubs and get wasted,” she said in Self Magazine. “My friends and I look out for each other, and I love just inviting everyone over to watch TV.”

But Demi reveals that she has grown apart from some of her friends including her best friend since childhood, Selena Gomez. The “Give Your Heart a Break” singer admits she’s not as close with Selena but she’ll always love her.

“Selena and I aren’t as close as we used to be,” she said of Gomez. “But she’ll always have a place in my heart.”

Selena Gomez was one friend who helped Demi get through her tough time. She even wrote a letter expressing just how proud she was that Lovato got through it.

"Thank you for trusting me and wanting me there during that hard time," Gomez wrote in a letter this year. "I hope you know how much I love you and how proud I am of the role model that you have become."

Although they aren’t “close,” Demi had previously said that Selena was one person she hoped would never “leave my life no matter what happens” because they had been through a lot together.

"There were times I felt so anxious, almost like I was crawling out of my skin — that if I didn't do something physical to match the way I felt inside, I would explode," she explained about her issues prior to entering a treatment center in late 2010. "I cut myself to take my mind off that. I just didn't care what happened. I had no fear."

Since leaving that center in early 2011, she has gotten her career back on track. She released the album Unbroken later that year, is currently out on an extensive summer tour and just wrapped up a round of auditions as a judge on "The X Factor." She's also set to host the Teen Choice Awards on July 22.

But her life isn't just about work. "I make time for myself and meditate," she said. "And I haven't used my cell in three months! Subconsciously, it was a crutch. When a room gets quiet, what do you do? Grab your phone! Now I can sit and have conversations with people."

These days, the 19-year-old explained to the magazine, she is in a much happier place. "You can choose to work toward happiness or not," she said. "I used to expect it to come to me, but it takes more than seeing a therapist once a week.

"I've spent the past two years getting over an eating disorder and issues like self-harming and bipolar disorder. Unlike a person who doesn't have these problems, I have to work on this stuff every day," she added. "I'm reminded of that whenever I eat or feel down."

Lovato opened up about her personal issues with MTV earlier this year for the documentary "Stay Strong." She shared in the special that her fans helped her deal with issues like cutting. "Every time someone asks me for a picture or an autograph, even if I'm having a bad day and I'm in a bad mood, I remember, 'You're nothing without this person,' " she explained. "They make it special."

After not quite an hour, they headed back to the Olsen Hotel, where they are staying. Possibly, the pair woke up with a headache.

While Justin, 18, was busy at work in Sydney, his girlfriend was enjoy a leisurely shopping trip around the Australian city, earlier today.

Selena, 19, checked out the Sydney Opera House and took a stroll in the sunshine before deciding to do a bit of shopping in Paddington.

All those hours walking around in the sunshine took its toll on the young musician and she had to cool off with a large chocolate ice-cream.

Later in the day she also enjoyed a hamburger lunch at Bondi Beach, and sipped on a Lipton Ice-Tea drink.

The Disney star was dressed more like a rock and roll artist rather than the pop sound she is well known for.

She wore a open denim shirt with a black vest top, blue jeans and big biker boots. Her relaxing afternoon was a far cry from her boyfriend's who was just moments away, hard at work.

Justin arrived at the Entertainment Quarter, where he was due to perform an exclusive acoustic concert for his legion of fans.

He also had the look of a rock star and wore a sleeveless denim jacket with a black V-neck shirt and matching trousers. He completed the style with a thick gold chain and sunglasses.

The pair have been enjoying their time Down Under, despite work commitments cropping up here and there, and were spotted visiting trendy St Kilda bar Hotel Barkly on Saturday night. 

Beforehand, the duo and Justin's entourage went for dinner at the popular Stokehouse restaurant on the St Kilda waterfront.

The teenager star also wore a pair of black sunglasses throughout the evening, and it is no wonder why.

Justin has been continuously mobbed by thousands of Australian fans since he arrived there last week.

For the outing, the couple both dressed warmly for the chilly Melbourne conditions.

Selena was toasty in a grey knitted jumper worn under a denim vest, while Justin wore his leather Letterman jacket over a hoodie and a white T-shirt.
