Selena Gomez set for 'Wizards of Waverly Place' TV movie

Selena Gomez is reprising her role in 'Wizards of Waverly Place' for a TV movie, less than a year after the hit U.S. show ended.
The actress/singer shot her final scenes for the popular children's series last year and almost 10 million viewers tuned in when the last episode aired in the U.S. in January.
Gomez subsequently admitted wrapping the show after four years was "one of the hardest things" she's ever experienced - but now she's set to reunite with her co-stars.
The new project, which Gomez will also executive produce, will begin production next month in Los Angeles and will be shown on the Disney Channel in early 2013, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Gary Marsh, president and chief creative officer of Disney Channels Worldwide, says, "With the phenomenal ratings of the Wizards finale earlier this year, it became clear that fans of the series were not ready to say goodbye to Selena or the rest of the 'Wizards' cast. As such, we're thrilled that the cast has agreed to reunite to bring their fans one last grand adventure."

Demi Lovato Says Her Obsession with Her Weight Started At Age Three

Pop star Demi Lovato says that her struggles with her weight first started during her childhood when she was just three years old.
The "Skyscraper" crooner suffered from both anorexia and bulimia during her teen years and also spent some time under professional monitoring at a rehabilitation clinic in 2010. She has now revealed that her obsession with the shape and size of her body began when she was still a baby.
On Monday's episode of Katie Couric's show "Katie," Lovato opened up about her inner battles and said: "I remember being three years old in a diaper and rubbing my hand over my stomach, like I remember thinking in my head, 'I wonder if one day this will ever be flat?' It just continued. I've always had self-confidence issues… and it also didn't help that I had kids in school at such a young age that were really, really naturally very thin, so I always felt like the bigger one of the group."
But her eating disorders had never turned into full-blown emotional meltdowns until two years ago. She says that the pressure that comes with being a celebrity acted as an aggravating factor in her case.
"I believe that I was born with it, and that it was just gonna be there. It runs in my family and it's just there. And I think that when you go through things that are traumatic… it can bring out the nasty behaviors that rise to the surface when you don't know how to stay in control or feel your emotions," Lovato added.
In the same show, Couric had revealed her own bouts with bulimia. Talking to eating disorders specialist Dr. Cynthia Bulik, the veteran hostess said: "I wrestled with bulimia all through college and for two years after that. And I know this rigidity, this feeling that if you eat one thing that's wrong, you're full of self-loathing and then you punish yourself, whether it's one cookie or a stick of gum that isn't sugarless, that I would sometimes beat myself up for that."

Demi Lovato talks about her eating disorders and performs on 'Katie'

Katie Couric and Demi Lovato

"The X Factor" U.S. judge Demi Lovato, 20, has talked about her personal problems (including having bulimia and anorexia) in several interviews, but when she appeared on Katie Couric's nationally syndicated talk show "Katie" in an episode with an eating-disorder theme, it prompted Couric to confess that she too had bulimia when she was in her late teens to her mid-20s. The prerecorded episode was televised on September 24, 2012.
Lovato has also been very open about being bipolar and having problems with substance abuse and self-mutilation. She has been in rehab for all of these issues.
In her "Katie" interview, Lovato tsaid her earliest memory of having self-confidence issues about her body was when she was "3 years old, in a diaper, and rubbing my hand over my stomach ... I remember thinking in my head, 'I wonder if one day this will ever be flat.' And it just continued. I always had self-confidence issues in my body and self-image problems. It also didn't help that I had kids at school, at such a young age, that were really, really naturally thin. So I always felt like I was the bigger one of the group."

Lovato said that she would alternate between behaviors of bulimia (bingeing an purging) and anorexia (self-starvation). She confessed that there was one week when she ate only two meals. She said her bulimia started when "I was around 8 years old ... I believe I was born with it. It was just going to be there. It runs in my family. It's just there. I think when you go through things that are traumatic that happen to you when you're little or at any time in your life, it can bring out the nasty behaviors that rise to the surface when you don't know how to stay in control or feel your emotions."
She added that being bullied at school also damaged her self-esteem: "People don't realize how badly verbal harassment and that cyber bullying affects you. It played more of a toll on me than if I was physically abused at school. I kind of always said, 'I wish they had hit me in the face and gotten it over with,' because what they said to me sticks to me to this day. It affected me into the person that I am today. They called me 'fat' and they called me horrible things."
Lovato eventually asked to be home schooled because she couldn't take the bullying anymore. And although Lovato says she had eating disorders long before she became famous, she believes that being a famous entertainer "amplified" her insecurities about her body because she was negatively affected by what the media said about her physical appearance.
In 2010, Lovato made headlines for hitting her female backup dancer Alex Welch. It was an incident that prompted Lovato to check into rehab that year. The incident was briefly mentioned in the "Katie" interview. Lovato commented on the incident: "I felt horrible. I wasn't in control of my emotions at the time. I was out of control. There's no excuse for it. It definitely showed everyone I needed to get help. I think two days later, I was checking into rehab."
In rehab, Lovato says, she was not allowed to eat by herself or go to the bathroom by herself. She says she was also forced to eat everything on her plate. "Oftentimes, I would cry, because I physically couldn't stomach it. If that happened, I would have little consequences [as punishment in rehab] -- nothing horrible, just not being able to go to the cafeteria to eat."
Changing the way she thought about controlling her weight was the key to her recovery from the eating disorders, Lovato said. "The only way to accept yourself is to say, 'God, I'm giving it to you,' or whatever you feel gives you that power. It's just surrendering and saying, 'I can't do this to my body anymore. I'm going to let my body be what it naturally is supposed to be.'"
Couric pointed out Lovato's recovery manager, Mike Bayer, who was in the audience. Bayer commented that it's very difficult for anyone to overcome an eating disorder unless "the whole family is willing to participate in their daughter's or son's [recovery from having an] eating disorder."
Lovato said her family has been very involved and supportive of her recovery.
At the end of the episode, Lovato was shown performing her hit "Give Your Heart a Break." She performed the song live.

Demi Lovato back to her party-girl ways?

What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas!
20-year-old X-Factor judge, Demi Lovato, has been in Vegas for the iHeartRadio festival, and has been pictured hanging out with her friend old notorious party-girl friend, Hanna Beth.
Demi Lovato has been very open about her personal struggles in the personal eye, from bulimia, to punching a back-up dancer in a face, and underage partying that landed her a ninety day stay at treatment center Timberline Knolls in Chicago.
After emerging from treatment in early 2011, Demi spoke openly about her ups and downs and struggles with recovery, which is an on-going process.
Demi and Hanna Beth connected in 2011 over their struggles with sobriety, but it was clear from the start that Hanna Beth wasn't the good influence she pretend to be.
Frequently tweeting about illegal activities like "taking e pills" (ecstasy), Hanna Beth has shown time and time again that she doesn't take her sobriety seriously. Demi and Hanna Beth even got matching lip tattoos during a drugged-out Independence Day weekend last summer.
Perhaps the "Give Your Heart a Break" singer had clean, sober fun this weekend. We all hope that this talented young girl is doing well in her sobriety. But shouldn't Demi know by know that these social-climbing former "scene queens" shouldn't be trusted?
As Demi was proud of proclaiming on twitter for some time, "You are who your friends are". Stay strong, Demi!

Demi Lovato Is Ambassador for New Anti-Bullying Campaign

Demi Lovato has a secret to share: Growing up wasn't always easy for her.

"I had a really tough time when I was in middle school," the X Factor judge, 20, tells PEOPLE. "People would write 'hate petitions' [about me] and send them around to be signed. They'd have CD-bashing parties of my demos. They'd come to my house, stand across the street and yell things. It was a very emotional time for me, and all I wanted to do was get away."

It was so bad, in fact, that Lovato believes it's part of what led her to seek treatment for issues like an eating disorder and cutting nearly two years ago.

"Back then, there were times I didn't think I'd be able to move on," she admits.

Fortunately, Lovato has made it to the "other side," and is now drawing on those painful experiences as the new ambassador for Secret's "Mean Stinks" campaign, encouraging girls to "gang up for good" to end bullying in schools.

"I heard about the program last year, and thought it was such a great opportunity," Lovato says. "They're really trying to put an end to bullying."

Thursday morning, the star surprised students at New York City's Young Women's Leadership School to talk to them about the program, which asks girls to pledge to have a "Drama Free School Year" by making a pinky swear, symbolized by wearing blue nail polish on their pinky fingers.

"I'll definitely be wearing [the nail polish] starting soon," Lovato says. "It's a conversation starter: 'Hey, why is your pinky blue?' 'This is a pinky promise that I'm not going to bully people, that me and my friends are ganging up for good.' "

To help, Secret will donate $1 (up to $150,000) from the purchase of every Mean Stinks Clinical Strength deodorant to the cause. Learn more about the program on Secret's Facebook page.

Selena Gomez's 'Wizards of Waverly Place' picks up Creative Arts Emmy

Even though "Wizards of Waverly Place" may now officially be gone from the Disney Channel, the Creative Arts Emmys are making certain that the Selena Gomez series is not forgotten in any ways. The critically-acclaimed show (which already has a series of Emmy wins under its belt already) took home the trophy of Outstanding Children's Program Saturday night at the Creative Arts Emmys, which are a series of awards handed out that are not included in the actual telecast airing on ABC next week.
Selena has yet to address this victory publicly, but we are pretty sure that she has to be rather satisfied with it. She was a star of the series for many years prior to it ending last fall, and "Wizards" is in many ways responsible for the massive success that she has today. She has by and large gone on to film movies, but do not be surprised if she makes a few guest appearances here and there on various shows.
Some of the other programs related to children that won Creative Arts Emmys including "The Penguins of Madagascar" (for animated series) and "Sesame Street: Growing Hope Against Hunger" (for nonfiction series).
Even though Selena's show is no longer on the air, are you happy to see it victorious? We want to hear some of your thoughts with a comment below!

Ariana Grande: Breakout star of 'Victorious'

The breakout cast member from Nickelodeon's "Victorious," Ariana Grande will star in the cabler's spinoff series, "Sam and Cat," and is recording an album with Universal Republic -- proof that TV and recording execs are noticing what the Internet has long realized: Grande is a bona fide star. With her Jolly Rancher red hair, Grande counts nearly 3 million Twitter followers, and her YouTube videos draw millions of hits. In fact, her casually recorded cover of Adele's "Rolling in the Deep" garnered more than 32 million views.
Untitled Entertainment's Stephanie Simon discovered Grande in her award-winning performance in the Broadway musical "13," and the multi-talent insists that singing is still her passion and priority. "I want to win a Grammy one day," she says. "I don't want to be a little girly flash in the pan."
In the meantime, Grande is looking forward to a Nick TV movie, film projects and the launch of her Nick series (with "iCarly's" Jennette McCurdy). Recently, Grande took a meeting in hopes she'd sway producers to hire her for a project, only to learn it was they who were courting her. "I got offered a role I didn't have to audition for? That blew me away," she says.

Selena Gomez hits Atlanta for new movie

Selena Gomez

Selena Gomez flew from LAX to ATL Thursday, to get back to work on a re-make of The Getaway—the 1972 classic caper movie starring Steve McQueen and Ali McGraw. Selena, with co-star Ethan Hawke, had already done some preliminary filming in Bulgaria, but the new set location is steamy Georgia, reveals the Atlanta Fresh Loaf. Hordes of Selena Gomez fans will be heading for the site, to look for jobs as extras and stand-ins. Or, they might just stand around and watch.

Selena Gomez, after a couple of over-the-top glamorous weeks at film festivals in Venice and Toronto, was dressed down to nitty-gritty casual, in ripped jeans, flat sandals, and a dreamcatcher tee, with her hair long and gleaming. She added a ragged-edge jacket and a fringy scarf, all in quiet, earth-toned colors. After days of elegant designer dresses, Selena must have wanted to look a bit like an ordinary twenty-year-old. She left off the expensive boots, but Selena Gomez couldn’t fly across the country without her huge designer tote and a cell phone constantly in her hand. Those are her trademarks. The huge hoop earrings were probably there, hidden by the hair. Her nails were short and an earthy dark red. She was snapped texting, reports Celebrity Gossip.
This year, Selena has totally thrown herself into movies. She just premiered Spring Breakers and Hotel Transylvania. She has spent the past few months filming Parental Guidance Suggested. Now, she gets the plum Ali McGraw role in The Getaway. Selena Gomez and her career are on the move.

Back on? Demi Lovato enjoys romantic dinner with ex-boyfriend Wilmer Valderrama.

Just last week she was forced to deny rumours that she was dating One Direction’s Niall Horan.
Now it seems Demi Lovato is instead rekindling her romance with former flame Wilmer Valderrama, who at 32 is 12 years her senior.
The two enjoyed a romantic late night meal at upscale eatery El Torito in Sherman Oaks on Sunday night.

Back On? Demi Lovato leaves the Sherman Oaks Galleria after having a romantic dinner with ex-boyfriend That 70s Show Wilmer Valderama

Blonde Demi was dressed in a sexy mini-skirt, jacket and ankle boots, while Wilmer looked hunky in a skin-tight T-shirt, jeans and sneakers.
And a post-dinner visit to Demi’s home afterwards suggests the evening was more about reigniting their romance than pure platonic bonding.
The pair dated back in 2010 but at the time claimed their romance had become a friendship.
But rumours about the pair reuniting hark back to July when they worked together on a TV spot for philanthropic organization Voto Latino.
On July 29, Demi tweeted a seemingly non-committal photo of herself with a leopard while on set for the campaign, with the accompanying message: 'Just working with a leopard on set yesterday…No big deal.'

Best friends? Just last week Demi was forced to deny she was dating Niall of One Direction

In the pic, That 70s Show actor Wilmer is clearly visible, watching Demi protectively while she pets the giant cat.
Yet old emotions spilled over on August 20 when Wilmer gushed over Demi on her birthday  tweeting, 'Feliz Cumpleaños to my angel @ddlovato, U continue 2 make me proud. U are the hero this generation it’s been waiting 4! With & by you always.'
Demi, 20, replied to Wilmer, 32, with an affectionate tweet.
'@WValderrama You are amazing…Thank you so much love. You mean the world to me,' she said in a tweet that she’s since deleted.

Demi seen out last night attending the Fox Fall Eco Casino Party at The Bookbindery Singer Demi Lovato arrives at the FOX Fall Eco-Casino Party at The Bookbindery in Culver City

Just days later on September 2 and the romance continued, with the  pair spotted canoodling for a late night snack at The Cheesecake Factory in Hollywood.
Back in March, when asked about his romance with Demi and the age difference Wilmer recalled: ‘We were really just best friends. She's amazing, she's a great human being.
‘And I'm so proud of her considering all of the different obstacles and everything she's been through.
‘I mean, she's got a pretty good head.
‘I was very proud to be there for her when she needed me, and she was there for me a number of times too. And we have a great friendship.’

Heading home: The couple returned to Demi's house after their date

Still its not the first time  Demi and Wilmer have revisited their seemingly on/off romance.
After first dating back in 2010 after Demi split from Joe Jonas, they survived as a couple for only a few months before breaking up.
After a matter of weeks they were spotted making out at a Halloween party with Demi photographed doing the walk of shame from Wilmer’s home the following day.

Selena Gomez tells her young fans: "Don’t see" Spring Breakers

The first time director Harmony Korine had Disney-developed teen queen Selena Gomez over to his house to pitch her on a role in his movie Spring Breakers, he went around first and flipped any artwork or photograph he thought might offend the hyper-wholesome star.
As the 20-year-old Gomez recounted the story to a packed press conference at the Toronto International Film Festival on Friday, she could only shake her head.
“He thought I was super, super Christian,” said Gomez, clad in a strapless animal-print dress next to her co-stars and director.
“I was like, ‘If I was a Christian girl, I probably wouldn’t have done this movie.’ “
Amen to that.
Certainly, Spring Breakers is a dramatic departure for Gomez and co-stars Vanessa Hudgens and Ashley Benson, all of whom were known primarily for family-friendly fare – the 23-year-old Hudgens having graduated from Disney’s High School Musical series and Benson, 22, being best-known for her role on the teen murder-mystery drama Pretty Little Liars.
Along with Korine’s wife, Rachel, the actresses portray a quartet of bored college kids who rob a restaurant with squirt guns to fund a debauched spring-break sojourn in Florida. Their boozy bacchanal is interrupted when they’re caught by police with a bouquet of drugs in their hotel rooms — and when they’re bailed out of jail by a shady drug dealer played with sleazy panache by an unrecognizable James Franco, things really take a turn for the bizarre.
Although tamer than other films in Korine’s canon (which include Gummo and Mister Lonely as a writer-director, in addition to his 1995 screenwriting breakout Kids), Spring Breakers is simultaneously glossy and grim, descending further and further into bleakness as it runs.
But making the film was different. Shooting in Florida with hundreds of extras who really were on spring break, the cast got a taste of the out-of-control antics depicted in the film – or, as Korine put it, they certainly got their fill of “thick-necked jock dudes trying to rub up on them … trying to grind on Selena.”
“I’ve never been on spring break, and I don’t think any of us have, really,” Benson said. “It was like, insane. It definitely felt like I was on spring break for a month.”
Naturally, that led to some bonding – as Hudgens succinctly put it during the presser: “I trust these girls. I love these girls more than anything.”
They also trusted Korine, and given the film’s unflinching sex and violence, that was probably essential.
“You could probably get me to do anything – it’s bad,” Gomez said to the 39-year-old filmmaker, before later boasting about how she took to her onscreen misbehaviour.
“I didn’t think I’d ever be able to smoke a bong.”
But Gomez – whose long-time boyfriend is Canadian teen-pop star Justin Bieber – also betrayed some discomfort about making the transition into grown-up films.
“The biggest challenge for me is that I do have a younger generation of fans that support me and that mean a lot to me,” said Gomez, a pop singer whose three solo albums have each gone gold in Canada.
“Plus, I think it’s hard for people to take me seriously in that way because of the brand that I’ve been given, which I’m grateful for, but you know … people obviously (put) you in this little box.”
And at one point during the presser, Gomez was asked what she would tell her young fans curious about the risqué film.
“Don’t see it,” she replied, drawing a murmur of protest from her director.
“I wrote a message on my social networking sites to them, saying kids my age – my generation – I think that they should see it because it’s very real, we’re not really sugar-coating anything. (But) I put underneath, it’s rated R, so please don’t see it if you’re under 18.
“That’s as much warning as I can give to the parents and the kids. But you can’t control what kids do.”
The film is part cautionary tale, part candy-coloured MTV fantasy (Korine said he wanted the movie to look like it was “lit with Skittles”), and no character is more colourful than Franco’s Alien, an ostentatious thug with hair dressed in cornrows and teeth covered in shiny metal.
Simultaneously menacing and absurd (at one point, he brags about his array of colourful shorts), he’s the type to decorate his bedroom wall with machine guns and nunchucks.
Drawing on “everyone from Yelawolf to Lil Wayne,” Franco dissolves into the role – and that was the point.
“I think Harmony just wanted to transform me, and make it so you didn’t recognize me,” said Franco who, unlike his beautifully outfitted co-stars, dressed casually in a blue T-shirt.
The Oscar-nominated 34-year-old was put on the spot, however, when a journalist asked for his favourite Gomez song – drawing a groan from the singer herself.
“Well, ‘Love Song’ of course is my favourite. Is that what it’s called, ‘Love Song?’ ” he said, referring to Love You Like a Love Song.”
“I first heard that on New Year’s Eve, Selena sang it at MTV. I was there, and I was just taken like everyone else.”
While the press gathering was mostly an upbeat affair, one journalist asked Korine to respond to the viewers who were rattled by the grim bikinis ‘n’ balaclavas tale. He cheerfully replied that he welcomed all responses, adding: “If you’re offended by it, I think that’s great. If you love it, I think that’s great.”
But Hudgens said she hoped the film’s message did get across, that female viewers felt “empowered and fearless” after seeing the movie.
“Just to know that, if you set your mind to something, you can get it done. Whether or not it’s robbing someone,” she said with a laugh, “or starting your own business.”

Demi Lovato Feels 'Blessed' For Chart-Topping Triumph 'It's just so incredible,' she tells MTV News about 'Give Your Heart a Break' success.

Demi Lovato is really having a moment.
Not only did she take home a Moonman at the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards for Best Video with a Message (for "Skyscraper"), but she also put on one very memorable performance of her chart-topping single, "Give Your Heart a Break." That song has given the singer a lot of firsts. It was the first time she's ever performed at the VMAs and it's the first time she's ever had a song sit at the top of the charts — it's now at #1 onBillboard's Pop Songs chart.
"The reception for my single is so amazing," she told MTV News. "It's been going up the charts for a while now and right now I actually have my first #1 single, so that's really exciting for me. It means so much to me. I never thought I'd be blessed enough to have this opportunity and here I am.
"It's just so incredible," she added.
And if anyone is looking for an answer as to why this song has been so embraced by the masses, Billy Steinberg, who co-wrote the song with Josh Alexander, recently offered up an explanation to MTV News.
"You know, I just think it took a long time for numerous reasons. I think one, it's not a trendy dance track. It's kind of almost an old-school song with a verse and a chorus and a bridge. It's kind of an old-fashioned song. ... But she does have a devoted following and the fanbase she does have really pushed the song and Hollywood Records did a great job to promote the song. And the fact that it was a great song that was really sung well, it just built up steam. It took time, but it happened."
With a hit single under her belt, fans will next get the chance to see her debut as one of the new judges on the "X Factor." The revamped second season kicks off on September 12 on Fox. She'll sit beside fellow newbie and hitmaker Britney Spears, as well as returning judges Simon Cowell and L.A. Reid.

She claims the music mogul is intimidated by her while working on The X Factor.
She told TODAY's Natalie Morales: 'He calls me a brat. It's OK. He's just intimidated by my responses (on the show).... I give it back to him.'
Lovato added: 'When I sit on that panel and they ask me for my opinion, I will be very honest. And sometimes it may seem a little harsh, but I try to say it as nicely as possible. You know, sometimes it does come off harsh, because it's brutally honest and they don't want to hear it.'

The 20-year-old took the time out of her busy schedule to do a live Twitter chat and answer a few questions from her adoring fans. During the chat, she told fans her music tastes have changed, and Selenators will be surprised when they hear her new stuff. Thursday it was reported that Selena Gomez has joined the ranks of Justin Bieber and One Direction band members. Gomez fell in love with actor Jonah Hill’s former home in Tarzana, Los Angeles. The house was only $2.9 million and with 4,650 sq. ft. it easily has enough room for Gomez and boyfriend Justin Bieber. Five bedrooms and six bathrooms should give plenty of room for any guests to stay over too.
News reports that a full tennis court and spa will be keeping Gomez in tip-top shape. At the beginning of the year, Justin bought his own mega-mansion for 7 million. Gomez shows a bit more restraint in purchasing a home. For all the reasons outlined previously – Selena should pay cash outright for her home also. The money spent will hopefully be a great investment for the talented Gomez.
Recently across the pond, the One Direction band members were shopping for homes. One Direction earned £32 million this year and are happy to spend it. The British real estate market might just revive because of the spending habits of One Direction band members, Liam Payne and Harry Styles.
It seems that Selena Gomez has now arrived, and is jumping into saving her money as well as earning it. Working on several projects, we are sure that Selena can qualify to buy just about any home she desires.

Demi Lovato To Release New Single By December

Demi Lovato is finishing up her summer tour ahead of the premiere the second season of The X-Factorand late summer concerts usually mean state fair shows. So during one of her latest stops in Minnesota, she caught up with KDWB. She was all smiles and of course talked about her wish for “Give Your Heart A Break” to reach #1 and her next single off her future 4th album which she claims will be released by December! She also touches on the topic of Hot Chelle Rae, whom she is good friends with. You can hear all of that, along with what she did for her 20th birthday and what it is like to work on The X-Factordown below at the bottom of this post.

I am glad that she was able to speak somewhat in the interview. Her fans screaming made it hard to hear her or the DJ, but at least she talked about the important parts-her career. She seems to be excited for her next album and judging spot on The X-Factor. It is hard not to feel the same way when you see how she lights up. It seems like she must feel confident enough to start the show for real. I am glad that she has found happiness in her life now.
